As an existing customer for 15 years, Willowbrook Hospice chose to work with Penketh Group when occupying a new premise, Willowbrook – The Living Well in St Helens. The purpose of the space is to support local people living in the communities of St Helens and Knowsley, by enabling the hospice to host a multitude of events and, to be able to transform the space dependant on the event with ease.
Penketh Group provided adaptable furniture to cater for; multifunctional space, flip top tables which enable the users to fold the table away to create more open spaces when needed. AV & Technology was also installed – including a screen and overhead projector to allow the rooms to support presentations for conferences, meeting spaces, training seminars and social events.
The Room called the Alexandra Suite, in honour of the building’s former name, Alexandra House, is used to deliver Palliative Care Education courses to Doctors, Nurses and care home staff; host fundraising events, show films and hold afternoon tea parties, bringing together people who feel isolated and alone.
Willowbrook Hospice’s The Living Well building was also honoured with the prestigious Judges’ Award at this year’s North West Property Awards in recognition of the work undertaken in returning, the once derelict Alexandra House into the multi-functional Willowbrook – The Living Well.
