As a company, we make it our mission to get involved with regular charity work in order to do our best to support local charities across the North West. One cause we hold particularly close to our hearts is the The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre charity, which has also been a loyal Penketh Group customer for many, many years.
You may remember back in 2017 when we raised £8,000 to help fund various new facilities at the Clatterbridge hospital (which is just down the road from our Wirral headquarters) and this year, we’re excited to be a part of the Big LEGO Brick Hospital campaign.
The Big LEGO Brick Hospital is a scaled replica of the brand new specialist cancer hospital which is currently being built in Liverpool city centre. It is going to be the biggest LEGO structure in the UK and the first ever hospital of its kind to be made using LEGO bricks in the world.
The scale hospital will be made using more than half a million bricks and the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre are encouraging the public to Buy a Brick for just £1 to help complete the model before the opening of the real thing in Summer 2020.
As our contribution, we sponsored our very own miniature Penketh Group delivery van which we went to place on the model ahead of its tour around Merseyside later this year.
All money raised will be going towards the new state-of-the-art hospital which features things like a beautiful roof garden where patients can relax and homely apartments for relatives to utilise which the NHS are unable to fund.
Penketh Group Sales Director, Paul Mann (pictured above) shares how pleased we were to be a part of the Big LEGO Brick Hospital campaign:
“The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre has been a customer of ours for a number of years now so it’s a relationship we already value strongly. To be able to support their incredible charity work outside of that as well is something we really are extremely proud of.
“We look forward to seeing how the new facility continues to develop and can’t wait to see our miniature delivery van on tour around Merseyside!”
