A new Manchester home for Sellick Partnership
At the end of 2025, we were pleased to support market-leading professional services recruitment specialist, Sellick Partnership, with their Manchester move. It involved the relocation of its Manchester headquarters to The Tootal Buildings on Oxford Street.
The new workspace spans almost 5,000 square feet within one of the city’s most recognisable historic commercial buildings, positioned between Oxford Road and Portland Street stations and within walking distance of St Peter’s Square, Deansgate, Manchester Central Library and the Palace Theatre.
Originally built in the early 20th century as a textile warehouse for the Tootal Roadhurst Lee company, the Tootal Buildings are rooted in Manchester’s industrial past. Once part of the city’s global cotton trade, the building now sits in a thriving commercial and cultural district, making it a prime location for modern professional services businesses.
From design vision to desks and chairs
The Penketh Interiors team worked alongside commercial property company, XLB, fit out contractor, CubicWorks and interior design partner, AXI Design. We produced a full furniture specification aligned with the look, feel and layout set out in the design plans, matching the scheme with the right furniture, fabrics and finishes.
All products were carefully selected to bring the scheme to life, using our established industry contacts to fast-track procurement within an extremely restricted timeframe. The client wanted a speedy turnaround, which gave the Penketh Interiors team around two weeks to specify and order furnishing products ready for immediate installation.
Fast-track furniture: Where speed met quality
The programme demanded an approach that balanced speed with quality at every stage and with such a condensed programme, collaboration was critical.
All furniture products and manufacturers were specified based on confirmed lead times that could realistically meet the schedule. Availability, logistics and installation sequencing were considered alongside aesthetics, ensuring there was enough time for products to be ordered, delivered and installed without impacting the wider fit-out programme.
To achieve this, we worked in a fast, focused sprint to develop a bespoke brief fulfilment programme. This included a furniture spec review with the designer and client, alongside a fabrics and finishes workshop prior to final sign-off. This tight, collaborative approach ensured furniture installation aligned with the construction programme and supported a smooth transition into the space.
Quicker, slicker office relocation
The project was a relocation from Sellicks Partnership’s long-standing office at Queen’s Court. Alongside supplying new furniture, our team was also responsible for safely transferring a selection of existing furniture items to the brand-new workspace through smooth logistics.
The process ensured that re-used items were relocated securely with minimal disruption to the project and zero damage. The existing furniture items were then installed seamlessly alongside the new portfolio, creating one cohesive scheme.
