“The team at Penketh Interiors were great to work with throughout the project. Their hands-on approach and willingness to work through details in person made a real difference, particularly when it came to finalising finishes and furniture selections. The end result is a space that feels cohesive, high-quality and well-suited to how our teams work”

Rebecca Swarbrick, Office and Communications Manager, Cumberland Farms

The brief

The brief for the Penketh Interiors team was to deliver a high-quality, modern workspace that aligned with CubicWorks’s overall design vision, while remaining tightly controlled on cost. We worked to deliver the furniture specification in the most efficient way possible, ensuring that value-engineering didn’t compose quality or finish.

With a tight timeline, from inital meetings to full installation, the focus was on delivering a cohesive furniture scheme that balanced aesthetic, performance and budget. This required close coordination across all stakeholders

The delivery

Working from CubicWorks’ design scheme and CBRE’s project management plan, we delivered a diverse furniture portfolio that brought the concept to life. The project was highly collaborative, with both CubicWorks and the Cumberland Farms team closely involved throughout. The Cumberland Farms team visited our Manchester showroom to review options, explore materials and finalise selections. These sessions allowed for detailed, face-to-face decision-making and ensured the final scheme, aligned with both functional requirements and aesthetic preferences

“Being involved in a project at Lofthouse was something the team and I were really pleased to be part of. It’s a standout space and a great setting for a workplace. The collaborative approach with Cumberland Farms, CubicWorks and CBRE made a real difference, enabling us to deliver furniture solutions that worked both visually and practically, on time and within budget”

Sam Noton, Head of Projects, Penketh Interiors

The result

The scheme incorporates a wide range of work settings, including a workcafé, boardroom, meeting rooms, focus rooms, breakout areas and privacy nooks. A mix of high and low, soft and structured furniture supports different working styles, allowing users to move easily between tasks throughout the day.

The space also includes an impressive client lounge, overlooking the stadium pitch. Here, higher-end furniture and fabrics were specified to create a more premium, executive environment suited to hosting visitors, events and informal meetings. Across the wider workspace, the balance of furniture types and settings supports both collaboration and focused work, creating a flexible and adaptable environment.

A warm, refined colour palette was used throughout, paired with soft, rounded furniture forms to create a more relaxed, contemporary feel. Consistency across materials and finishes ensured a cohesive design language across all areas.
