“The move to our new office marks an incredibly important time for us as a business. Throughout this process, it has been paramount to put our employees at the heart of our decision-making, ensuring that we create a modern office environment that our people can be proud to be a part of. Penketh Group’s work has aided this, making the move seamless and providing top-quality furniture solutions”

Furniture for SPORTFIVE UK headquarters

SPORTFIVE is the first tenant to move into the space in Bruntwood’s Foundation building, introducing it as the agency’s UK headquarters. We worked closely with design practice, SpaceInvader curating and building the furniture specification to fulfil the interior design scheme.

As a global sports marketing agency, sport is at the heart of everything at SPORTFIVE, this is reflected in the brand manifestation, creative configuration and finishing touches in the space. Examples include bleacher-style seating built into the kitchen, a pool table and dart board in the shared social space.

Strategic furniture consultancy

Spaces included collaboration areas, meeting rooms, ‘Zoom rooms’, social spaces, a welcome area, booths, private offices and desking areas. Furniture specified for these spaces incorporated a mixture of heights and textures.

The look and feel of the space encapsulates the industrial aesthetic but with warm and contemporary elements that really bring SPORTFIVE’s brand identity to life. We also reflected this approach through the furniture specification process, incorporating the industrial style with warm timbers with the Vepa Timber high table.

We included the Narbutas Combus shelving units to break the space up in a softer, more airy way.

As well as budget requirements, we also kept sustainability in mind when building the client’s furniture portfolio spec.

We included the Nomique and Vepa Hemp barstool, which is 100% biodegradable, 100% plant-based, 100% biological and 100% recyclable. It’s also infinitely reusable and absorbs carbon dioxide, giving it a negative CO2 footprint.

“We have long-standing relationships with CBRE, Bruntwood, SpaceInvader and CubicWorks so it was a pleasure to reunite as a project team again to work on this brief together too.”

Relocation with minimal disruption

Sustainability was also a crucial factor in SPORTFIVE’s decision to repurpose and reimagine existing furniture. With this brief in mind, the Penketh Group team was required to factor a relocation into the project budget and logistics.

We safely and quickly moved desks, chairs, storage and some soft seating from the client’s old workspace in Wilmslow to the new office in Altrincham.

Once the existing furniture reached the destination, our team of installers worked in tandem with CubicWorks’ fit out operations to install the items in the new workspace. It was important that we figured out how to work simultaneously as a collective project team so that we could meet the deadline set for the client’s move.

It was also essential that we factored the client’s existing furniture portfolio into the spec of the products we incorporated as part of the new design. This meant that the old and new furniture could be blended seamlessly into the design scheme to maximise budget and space configuration.
