10 steps we’re taking to stay safe during Coronavirus

As the spread of Coronavirus continues to dominate the headlines, we wanted to take a moment to check in and let you know what we’ll be doing to protect your team and ours. You can rest assured that our endeavor to support ‘business as usual’ will be relentless, even in this time of crisis.

There’s no denying that in the midst of the pandemic, times are hard on the public health front, but also when it comes to business and the economy. In already uncertain times, the COVID-19 outbreak is set to present challenges for a long time to come, which is why we’re taking some extra precautionary measures to keep our staff and customers healthy and happy.

Here’s what we’ll be doing to mitigate the impact on your business and ours over the coming months…

1. Securing our supply chain

Our Purchasing team have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to liaise with our key suppliers to ensure that we can continue to update stock on a regular basis, including high demand products such as hand sanitiser and cleaning products.

2. Remote working for our staff

Any Penketh Group staff who can work from home will now be doing so, following Government advice, to help stop the spread of the virus. With experienced IT technicians and AV specialists to hand, we are in a very fortunate position so can confidently say that remote working will have no impact on our ability to deliver our usual standard of service.

3. Daily temperature checks for staff

Any staff who display any symptoms while they’re at work, out on the road or completing an installation will have their temperatures taken with a thermometer and sent straight home if we suspect they might have any form of fever.

4. Hygiene products close to hand

Our drivers, installation teams and sales representative are all armed with plenty of hand sanitiser and antibacterial wipes so that they can clean their hands, vehicles and equipment before coming into contact with any of your employees. Staff in both our Wirral and Manchester offices also have access to cleaning products to keep their workspaces germ-free and personal hygiene in check.

Head to our blog for more tips on how to keep your tech devices clean without water damage.

5. Checking where our employees have traveled

We have ensured that none of the Penketh Group team have recently traveled to – nor have any plans to travel to – any of the countries that have been identified as high-risk by the WHO.

6. A new One-Drop option for deliveries

Last week, we implemented a new rule which means, for the time being, customers no longer have to sign for deliveries – to limit physical contact. We have now taken that a step further by introducing a One-Drop option, where our delivery team can leave your goods with one point of contact, rather than dropping off to multiple departments.

7. Designated drop-off points

If our new One-Drop option doesn’t quite suit you, our drivers are also happy to drop your deliveries at a designated drop-off point to eliminate physical contact entirely.

8. Out-of-hours delivery and installation

As part of our value-added workplace fit out and office refurbishment services, we regularly offer out-of-hours installation to limit disruption to our customers’ businesses. At this difficult time, we’re going to extend this to our deliveries as well as installation so that we can minimise the amount of time we are in contact with your staff.

9. Home deliveries where applicable

If many of your staff are working from home, we are also implementing home deliveries on applicable orders until further notice. If this is something that you think you might be interested in, simply get in touch with our customer service team for more information.

10. Chairs for the home office

As you know, we are keen champions of workspace ergonomics and this combination of comfort and function is just as important when you’re working from home as it is in the shared workspace. If you’d like some guidance on finding the right office chair for your home-based workspace, get in touch with our experts.
